4 Little Tricks to Get Glowing Skin this Summer
Get that summer glow-up
It's bright, it's sunny, and it's the start of a glorious summer! But your body might not agree with the glam and glory unless you take the following steps to nurture it and protect it against the heat of summer days.
Tip 1: Hydration helps you in more ways than one
We've all heard the phrase "our bodies are around 60 percent water." But that is not the only reason you need to drink water every day. Hydrating enables your body to regulate its temperature - when it's hot, your body will keep cool with sweat so you don't overheat. Hydrating also helps flush out waste from the body and helps your brain function normally. So, make sure you're getting enough water every day to avoid getting dehydrated.
Tip 2: Organic products are always better than chemicals
Sure, products that load up on chemicals may give fast results. But our bodies were not designed to take the onslaught of chemicals day in and day out in the name of 'skin care'. The chemicals in skin products enter the bloodstream and cause more damage than good over time.
Organic products, on the other hand, ensure the use of natural ingredients that go beyond surface-level treatments and nourish your skin the way it deserves. They are also non-allergenic (just check the labels of any product to ensure you're not allergic to any specific natural ingredient) and preserve the environment because their carbon footprint is much smaller (if any) than that of chemical products.

Tip 3: Play in the sun, but not between 10am-4pm
Research suggests that the sun's rays are the harshest between 10am and 4pm, when it is pretty much at or around its peak. Even if you're not in direct sunlight, make sure you're using at least an SPF 30 sunblock or sunscreen. SPF on, indoors or out!
Also, don't forget to moisturize and protect your lips. Most people forget that our lips are also made of skin that needs protection from harsh UV rays. Get an organic lip balm that contains SPF, and apply it every morning and throughout the day, as needed.
Tip 4: Hats are not just for the beach
Got a large hat that you think looks cute at the beach? Wear it around the city too! Wide-brimmed hats don't just provide shade, but also actively protect your hair, face and neck from harmful UV rays.
